After almost 13 years of DJing, and 8 of those years helping other artists and producers around the world get their tracks out on 12" vinyl through my record label Black Tiger Recordings, its time for me to do the same.

I am planing out a 4 track (2 tracks per side, max 7m30s each per track) 12" release of my material which will be a combination of minimal tech trance and epic or uplifting trance as it may be called these days.

As many of you all know, I am a vinyl DJ and I only play vinyl. So for me this is a very special release and the tracks I am producing now for this and will be shortly are going to be very special and worthy of the PVC they are pressed into.

The budget for this release is $2250.00USD which will include the mastering, and pressing of the records themselves and this will be done in the USA. I need a few low cost plug-in expansion kits (for ReFX Nexus2, which I own) and a decent sized hard drive to produce the multi-tracks from these productions and then a portion of the budget will be to get the tracks professionally engineered. The rest will go to shipping and promotions.

I am intending to press up 300 500 copies of this release and will possibly have some pressed to limited edition colored vinyl depending on costs. These will, if manufactured, be provided to the top donors of this project, autographed by me and include digital copies of the tracks for those of you without turntables.

In addition to this I will also be providing my full mix catalog to anyone who makes a donation over 50.00USD and will be down loadable.

The goal is to have the release out by December 1st, 2010 which would put it in place in the major online retailers stores with time to spare for shipping back to DJs who order it for playing at New Years Eve. I am already working on the tracks, laying out their form and I hope to have as much of this done and complete with the mastering and engineering finished as well by the middle of October.
The actually pressing time through the plant that I have selected is under 20 days which is excellent. The reason for not being able to tell you exactly how much the color limited edition versions will cost over and above that of standard black vinyl is that color vinyl prices shift constantly. However I can tell you that it is usually an addition 30 cents US per copy, plus a set up charge of between 50 and 100 dollars depending on the total run count in a colored vinyl release.
The metal masters are good for up to 1000 copies per side if not a little bit more, but in total I think max 500 copies for this release, 300 black and 200 or 100 colored would be fine. I know I can move between 100 and 200 copies of the black vinyl release in a couple of weeks and limited edition color can move just as easily.
