About Me

Born in Calgary and raised in Okotoks, Alberta; Ashley Crowcheif is truly a child of theCanadian west. Raised with a deep sense of her aboriginal ancestry, art has always played a major role in Ashleys life. Her turning point came right after high school at a media program for aboriginal youth that taught her to express her culture through film. Ashley uprooted to the west coast to attend The Art Institute of Vancouver. There her burgeoning talents blossomed, where she showed strong interests in lighting, documentaries and directing. Ashley has many plans for the future, including her ongoing passion project ``To Kill the Indian in the Child``, her documentary about children raised in Indian residential schools and how it has effected them and their culture
