Critical!: Go Westerly is an easy to run, lighthearted, funny fantasy game.

There is no dreary overhead here.  No charts with pithy skills.  No over-wrought spell lists with over-lavoured writing. This game is about you and yours bringing the funny to the table.  Be the swamp farmer who is a Master Scumm Sucker!  Be the Pointy Phallic Object Champion!  Be the Beautiful Bard who can do some Improvised Percussion!  In Critical!: Go Westerly you tell the Bartender your tale of glory and adventure!  A good tale will make him snicker, but a great tale will make her guffaw with glee.

If any beverage gets expunged through various orifices, it's all on you.  Wear it as the mark of honour that it is.

Critical!: Go Westerly is going to be launched under a creative commons license, that means that we're really giving the game to you.  You can take the rules and make your own game, or even write your own stories using the world of Westerly.  We want to hear everything you do because we think that's just plain awesome.

We've also got a bunch of other reasons why you should buy this game over Jonathan's blog.

Why are we doing this?

Well, making games costs money.  Money that you have.  We would like some of that money in order to help pay our amazing artist, Avery Liell-Kok, for her hard work and dedication, as well as the print run of the book.

What do you get out of this?

Well, first and foremost copies of the books and early access to the PDF.  The PDF will be ready for you on New Years Day, which means you have a great file of awesomeness to look forward to as you recover from the party the night before.  You'll also get signed copies of the books.  Some cool gear out of Hoggart's Castle's gift shop, some T-shirts, that are available in women's cut as well, and even some adventures and other written material you'll only find if you sign up.  You can also learn why you should leave Kobolds alone.

There may even be a ring involved, direct from the Queen Samantha's Collection.

UPDATE: We're adding 150 words in the book with The Adventurer level. So it's not just a case of getting listed as an adventurer, but you'll get a character and a description too!

UPDATE: You can download the sample here!

UPDATE: Here's the crest for the GSSC Alumni Shirts.  Only people who get in on this Campaign will get Alumni Shirts.
