Synopsis:
A man named Reese, who is down on his luck and contemplating his own suicide, tries to teach his womanizing roommate, Tony, respect for the opposite sex. When his roommate takes a trip out of town, Reese makes it his duty to help Tony’s most recent triumph, a woman named Janet, get over her heartbreak. Both find solace in each other, and Reese learns a lesson on love and life.
One thing I wanted to add is even though this sounds like a love story, it isn’t the main focus of the movie. The movie is more about finding your place in the world, and being happy with it. It shows you that sometimes, when things seem hopeless, there is always a silver lining that can be a little hard to see. The main character, Reese, shares himself intimately with the audience so honestly, people of all ages, races, and cultures can easily relate with his emotional struggle. However, just like real life, it isn’t completely serious. It’s filled with laughs, maybe even some tears. It has a mixed feel of Woody Allen movie mixed with a Cameron Crowe movie with a hint of Garden State and Swingers.
This screenplay has helped friends and myself out of depressing slumps by reminding that life is hard, but worth it. This is not only an entertaining movie, but an important movie.

| What makes Counting Losses different:
This story has the sweetness and sensitivity of a romantic comedy, but with a twist of darkness. Yes, there is a love story, but it's mostly a look at a man's struggle to like himself and his life. Everyone will walk away from this having learned something about themselves, life, and love.

| Writing and Directing is my passion. I started the website, www.floor13productions.com and www.myspace.com/floor_13_productions to show off my work. Since then, Floor 13 Productions has become a cult phenomenon. Along with a few short films here and there, I developed a web-series called The Clay Chronicles, which is now complete. Now, I am working on several short films for contests, and shopping feature length screenplays in almost every genre. |
