Our Story
Q: What happens when you stab a clown in the eye?
A: He DIES. Just like everything else.
Clown vs Mime. The newest most amazing conflict in the history of amazing conflicts: Tom and Jerry, vampires and werewolves, clorox and bacteria, democrats and republicans. Like these epic foes of man's history, they spend all their time creating new and gruesome ways to realize each other's death. Will the Clown use a balloon animal noose to strangle the Mime? Or will the Mime use his powers to conjure invisible C4 and blow the Clown to Marakesh? Watch and see!
Why We're Doing This
As we all know, clowns and mimes are mortal enemies. As we think more about this idea, we realize there are literally an infinite number of ways for these two archetypal characters to destroy one another. We think that might be funny. We've planned out around a dozen episodes for a web series that we think will display what these two terrifying beings might do if allowed to run free. Things will get bloody. And clowns bleed rainbow, we think. The video above is the first twisted taste of things to come.
Who We Are & What We Need
We are Brock England and Darren Scharf, two amateur filmmakers from Austin, Texas. Darren has been making short and feature films for over ten years. He's worked in various capacities including writer, director, producer, cinematographer, lighting designer, sound designer, and editor, as well as being a fine performer. His films have been seen at film festivals all over the world, including GenArt Film Festival, The Breckenridge Film Festival, and the Whitby Vampire Film Festival in the UK. Brock has a background in live theater and has a passion for acting. He has been performing and working backstage for over twenty years, and has worked all over the country as a lighting technician and performer in shows ranging from musicals to Shakespeare.We are asking for $10,000 to fund production for ten episodes. The money will be used in several ways, including paying the artists and crew, buying costumes, props, big shoes, white face paint, and lots of fake blood. This is where you come in!
