Our Story

Catbrain Film Factory has been making quality short films in the Phoenix, AZ area since 2006.  Led by 2010 AZ Filmmaker of the Year, Paul Hoeprich, Catbrain prides themselves on creating unique, inspired films.  The current project, Damsel, is set in the Strong Brain world created by published author, Nathan Yocum.  This film is set to be shot in mid-October in the Phoenix area, and will be Catbrain's largest production to date and upon completion will be used to garner funding for the larger "Strong Brain" feature film.

The Impact

Catbrain Film Factory is run by typical every-day people.  We are teachers, retired firefighters, and regular Joes and Janes that have big creative ideas!  We need the help of others to help move our productions to the next level.   Without your help, this project will not be possible.  With your help, this project will be completed and Catbrain as well as it's crew will be one step closer to realizing our filmmaking dreams! Catbrain is also affiliated with local schools and always includes young high school filmmakers on the crew to give them hands on learning.

What We Need & What You Get

We are looking for $4000 to complete this project. The money gained through Indie-gogo will be used for various production needs including the rental of a creepy old hospital in Phoenix, liability insurance, gear rental, craft services, wardrobe, vintage car rentals, and other production needs.  Most of the cast and crew are working for free and this project is more about the love of filmmaking and sacrificing to get started than it is about making money.   If there are extra funds after production those funds will be used to pay cast and crew for their time and  for promotional costs to get the film screened and in festivals.

Other Ways You Can Help

Use the Indie gogo share tools, email, or even the old fashioned telephone to get the word out about this project!
