Half Acre Promotions is a local cooperative
booking partnership focused on showcasing and preserving the rich music
heritage of Southwestern Virginia. Half Acre believes that providing a non profit gathering built on the platform of arts, fresh food, and family
entertainment will stimulate the regional economy. This event will directly benefit artisans,
musicians, farmers, as well as local businesses.
We are proposing an event for Labor Day weekend 2012 (August 31-September 2) to be held on the Catawba Sustainability Center property. Our intent is to provide an event focused on:

Food-showcase local farms; raise funds and awareness for the Sustainability Center
Arts-grow notoriety and vision of culture and art in the Roanoke Valley
Renewal-increase economic
growth though tourism and enhance local business income
Music-host a diverse mix of local and regional musicians
In addition to this campaign, we will seek business partnerships as well to reach our goal of $15,000 before March 15th to cover infrastructure costs such as a gravel drive, electricity, and purchasing construction materials.
