Dear Friends and Fans of THE CAMPAIGN,
Today is the one-year anniversary of the passage of Proposition 8, and sadly today we also are grappling with last night’s loss in Maine.
Over the last few days, I have been full of emotion, thinking about what I was doing this time last year. On November 4th, I was up at 3AM, after an hour and a half of glorious sleep, and I arrived at campaign headquarters at 4:15AM. I planned to film the headquarters before the lights came on at 5AM. To my surprise, the staff had arrived even earlier, unable to sleep at all in anticipation of Election Day. Twenty-three hours later, we were all still awake, holding onto hope that Prop 8 would not pass.
I’m sharing THE CAMPAIGN trailer with you today as a reminder of that day, the work that went into it, and the work that is ahead. It is a window into the film and a window into the last 18 months of struggle for LGBT equality.
Please repost the trailer and include a few words about why it is important to you. You can watch it here: http://tr.im/E9gp
Over the next few weeks, our Facebook page will be the best way to hear the latest. If you haven’t already, become a “Fan” of the film here: http://tr.im/E9Fw
Thank you to all of the campaign staffers, activists, and community members who put their hearts and souls into this crucial work. Thank you for supporting THE CAMPAIGN. And thank you for supporting LGBT equality.
Take good care,
Christie Herring
