Camp North was started around 3 years ago to become an underground type illustration magazine to help promote artists that didnt get the recognition they deserved. Since funding for a magazine was too much, Camp North turned into an art community site where any artist could sign up, create a portfolio and upload their work. They were immediately placed into our community, which consisted of other artists from around the world. We allowed uploads of any type of artwork (still image), video, flash animations, games and literature. We had art battles which allowed users to battle each other with their pieces of artwork to see who would be voted champion!
We were up for about 6 months, got relativity big, and things were going great! But the site crashed due to some server issues; we ended up scraping the whole site since it had way too many bugs and simply start fresh. Weve recently run low on funds. Actually, weve run out of funds, and were just barely keeping things together as we slowly work towards the new site. We need help, your help. Its been little over a year now and were still working hard on getting things ready, but we just dont have the resources to make the final touches necessary a reality.
We may seem like other art sites, but we bring a homey feel, a more natural and laid back touch. We allow all types of work, no fees and every artist and art form is respected and presented to the community. The staff works with the community, communicating and participating in every event offered. These values, were not finding so much on the internet these days. This is why
Id be extremely grateful to anyone willing to offer a helping hand! A few dollars goes a long way, and if when the site does go up, you have my personal invitation to join in the art experience. Thank you so much for taking the time to read and contribute. Have a great day!
