Here's the skinny: It's that time again. The coffers are empty and we need to keep the lights on at Canadian Animation Resources. It costs money to run this site and as always we want to keep it free and accessible to our readers. So every once in a while, we do one of these.
CAR reaches thousands of members of the Canadian Animation community every week. We do our best to keep you guys updated on what's going on. We share news, films and run a really kick ass job board. We do all this for nothing. No cost to you at all. But doing it takes time, and it takes cash. So here's the chance to give back and keep Canadian Animation Resources up and running for another year. Some pockets are deeper than others, and some of you want to see your logo pop up as a supporter. We can do that. We have regular sponsorship rates that work like advertising, different rates for different sizes, pretty straightforward. Give us a shout and we'll hook you up with some real estate on the main page and link to your homebase. Others just want to give. It's amazing when you see an animation student drop their coffee money into the campaign. Reminds you that people really value what we're doing.
And we're trying to do more. We just launched our first ever production initiative, the 30 Second Film Challenge. A handful of recent Algonquin grads are working hard right now to complete 6 30-second animated shorts. It's a chance for these emerging film-makers to build their body of work with the support and guidance of industry professionals. Toon Boom just gave us 10 temporary animation license to get things done. We've got a month to go and things look good.
But it's crunch time for the site. So we stick out our hand to the community and hope you give back.
