UPDATE!
Canstruction was a great success for our team. Though we didn't win any awards, we made a very large donation to the food bank in the form of both canned food and cash. We would like to send out a huge thanks to everyone who helped to make this event come together. Check out the gallery for a few photographs of our built structure.
RIM Architects, Howard S. Wright and KPFF Consulting Engineers have formed a team to build a can sculpture for the 1st annual Canstruction in San Francisco a unique community service project sponsored by the architecture, engineering, design and construction industry. The event will take place June 22 - 26, 2011 at the Metreon, and benefit the San Francisco Food Bank. See more at www.canstruction.org.
We need sponsors! Our planning has begun for this design-build project and were going to need several thousand cans to build a successful sculpture! With your help, we hope to build the most amazing can sculpture in Canstruction history. Your donation will be used to purchase canned goods to be used for the sculpture. All cans will be donated to the San Francisco Food Bank.
Don't forget to come see your donation expressed in sculpture on the fourth floor of the Metreon from June 22-26!
A big thanks to our current sponsors!
