As cuts to education budgets continue to mount, universities have cut professional development & travel funds. Fewer student affairs and higher education professionals have the opportunity to learn from others, share knowledge, and develop as professionals.

BreakDrink is in the process of changing formats to help fill the professional development void. BreakDrink has already hosted 1 online Student Affairs Conference, and has set a goal to host 3 conferences annually, with a capacity of 1,000 live participants each session. All educational sessions will be recorded and archived online for anyone to view and share, any time. Additionally, we are planning to launch 10 podcasts over the next year, kicking it off with 3 this summer, focusing on niche areas of higher education such as Greek Life, Residence Life, and Education Technology.

Funds raised will help launch the podcast by supplying the host with microphones, compensate fees for podcast software, and for the purchase of a computer to create a media center and sound studio. We will be transparent when posting the amount raised, and how the money is spent, via the website.
