Synopsis: is a dramatic film about a father and son caught on opposite sides of the ethnic strife during the Civil War in Bosnia as Serb Forces overrun the U.N. declared "safe-area" of Srebrenica during the summer of 1995.
Ivan, the father, is being transferred as part of a prisoner exchange between the warring factions, unaware that the old men and boys will soon fall victim to their former countrymen.
Nenad has joined "The Scorpions" as a way to get his estranged father across the front. Instead he witnesses the horror of having to watch Ivan dig his own grave.
Now Nenad must devise a way to free his father while the other soldiers stand guard and videotape the torture.
Their heartbreaking reunion will reveal evidence that Bosnian Serb Forces were guilty of Ethnic Cleansing.
Inspired by actual events, Black Boots is an allegory about family, heritage and politics.
Black Boots is an IFP (Independent Feature Project) sponsored project.

What makes Black Boots different?
By juxtaposing a fictional relationship of a father and son against the Ethnic Strife, Black Boots distills a situation that is steeped in a complex history of culture, religion and geography that dates back hundreds of years into one that an audience can understand.
A son must save his father.
Our intention is for the viewer to imagine the isolation and fear that engulfed the population of Bosnia and ultimately the hope when the videotape is brought out of the woods.
Supporting films with a social conscious transcends the subject matter of the film itself and allows those who contribute to be part of the collective voice for a more equitable world. These films bear witness to atrocities that are lost in the age of 24-hour news cycle and fall outside the political will of governments. By supporting this project, you provide a voice to those that were silenced.
At its core, BLACK BOOTS is a story about Human Rights.
