PROJECT HOME UPDATES COMMENTS GALLERY

Biological Control is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization. Contributions in behalf of Biological Control are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

The documentary follows a team of research scientists from UC Berkeley as they undertake a landmark field study in sustainable agriculture and ecological pest control in California’s Napa Valley. More specifically, the project is about the dynamic between bugs and pests because the research study focuses on biological control – the use of beneficial insects that eat or parasitize target pests – as an alternative to chemical pesticides. We plan to document the process and progress of their research over the course of the grape-growing season in California, which lasts from roughly April to September.
