Box, Window, Door (BWD), a unique fusion of eye-opening theatre  and live dreamscape, opens Sunday, March 6, 2011 for  only 12 performances at the historic Alexandria Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.  The result of a two-year collaboration between first-time playwright Evelyn Stettin and director Angela Grillo, the all-female cast takes you inside the dizzying dream world of two sisters in trouble-- one lives in a coffin, the other prepares daily for a mysterious dinner party that never seems to happen.  On sale now at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/143866, see Box, Window, Door for a dark-humored drama about how dreams can really wake you up.  All performances will include a pre-show and live music after the show.

 


 

OUR STORY

First-time playwright, Evelyn Stettin and first-time director, Angela Grillo, teamed up two years ago to create Box, Window, Door.  Evelyn Stettin (artist, writer, dreamworker) and Angela Grillo (actor, director, and Cal Arts graduate) bartered dreamwork and 'direction'.  Evelyn worked with Angela�s dreams as Angela guided Evelyn�s writing.  Our mutual love for dreams as a way to understand our personal lives, led us to the idea of using dreams as a way to create the content and structure of the play. The result is an exciting mix of dreams and art that explores complex issues as it entertains.

Let me tell you what is happen with your contributions once all production expenses have been paid:  that money will go towards taking Box, Window, Door to a dream conference in Holland this summer.  There will other Box, Window, Door projects coming up! So, stay tuned!!!
