Hello, and thanks in advance for checking out our project. This is truly a huge opportunity for us to share it with you, alongside with some of the ideas that have inspired us to make it real.

We are a group of young film makers interested in using the tools we have been given to translate our observation of the world into a moving image, a visual discourse that allows us to communicate with you a certain vision of the world surrounding us. Now that we have briefly introduced ourselves, lets get down to business.

Belo Monte, announcement of a war is an independent project for a documentary, feature length film in which the discourse would be set around a premise that has fortunately started to be considered in the global context: our world cant cope for much longer with the development and progress models currently used. We would like to illustrate that landscape by defining the context of our film around the development of the Belo Monte Hydroelectric Complex proposed to be built in the Brazilian Amazon.

Making a film about it is for us a means to explore a scenario through which we can understand the many nuances of such a relevant current affair and ultimately draw a map for a comprehensive acknowledging of the real situation. All in all, we would like to allegorically represent ourselves in our condition of architects and subjects of the reality we live in.

The resources we could ideally obtain from our supporters would be fully invested in completing the basic necessary equipment, supporting the production expenses, producing the art and score for the film, creating the rewards and, if we are lucky enough, in moving forward the post production stage. As it can be seen, there is quite a big deal of work to be done, but we are nonetheless entirely convinced in the potential of our project and in the possibility of optimizing resources.
