Based on Plato’s Symposium, this film tells the story of lovers wandering a bustling city searching for their other half. The catch is that most of the time, they never end up finding them. Yet as an audience, we do. We can see that each lover roams the city with only one, very abstract, bright and colorful wing, and their soul mate bears the other half of the pair. When you least expect it, a soul mate turns the corner with the opposing wing, but are often never seen by anyone but us. Whether it is a man, a woman, or someone of more androgyny, our soul mates are out there somewhere. And who knows, maybe soul mates do not always make a pair, but perhaps a group of three. One can never know who their true love(s) will be. The ultimate depiction that true love is blind, this film hopes to challenge expectations of love, gender, and sexuality, in a fanciful and interesting way of visual storytelling.
