THE STORY:

The script for ANHEDONIA begins...

ONCE UPON A TIME, there was a CEO who seemed to have everything. A profitable corporation. An adoring wife. Three beautiful daughters. In fact, his life would have been perfect were it not for one thing: his eldest daughter, Anhedonia, had lost her will to live.

To save his daughter, the CEO launches a contest, inviting the townspeople to his mansion, offering a fortune to whoever can persuade Anhedonia that life is worth living. From shrinks to stoners, holy men to con men, the contestants reflect the diversity of contemporary America. Ultimately, it is not a quick pitch that saves Anhedonia. Instead, a series of unexpected and moving plot twists breaks her spell of despair and helps her find lifes purpose.

PREPRODUCTION UPDATE:

We have secured award winning cinematographer M.Shawn Lewallen as Director of Photography.

Television and Screen actress (most recently on the CWs Supernatural) Traci Dinwiddie is excited to star as Anhedonia.

OUR OBJECTIVES:

To produce an entertaining and thought-provoking film with inspiring performances and high production values.

To highlight our talents as filmmakers and to highlight Wilmington, North Carolina as an important center for filmmaking through local, national, and international film festival screenings.

To create a film that is, from script to screen, truly indigenous to Wilmington: written, cast, filmed, and edited within our community.

To offer on-set experience to students from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and Cape      Fear Community College Film Studies Programs. These students will have an opportunity to work and     learn with experienced film professionals.

To take control of our own destiny as filmmakers. Wilmington, North Carolina has been a thriving destination for major production companies, including PARAMOUNT VANTAGE, WARNER BROS. HBO, and THE CW. Firestarter, Blue Velvet, Hudsucker Proxy, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Crow, Sleeping with the Enemy, Matlock, Dawsons Creek, One Tree Hill, Eastbound and Down, and Little Britain, USA are among the hundreds of feature films and television productions that chose Wilmington for its talented actors and crew base. Recently, many production companies have been taking their projects to other states that offer more attractive tax incentive packages. This creates a wonderful opportunity for independent filmmakers to focus on local projects. The amount of talent behind and in front of the camera is abundant right here in Wilmington.
