Our Story

IndieGoGo and all of our amazing contributors from our last fundraiser helped us to survive for a few more years and because of that generosity, we can now move forward with an idea we've had in the works for a few years now!

Come and celebrate our 5th Year Anniversary with Alterna's first trading card set that centers around the amazing creator-owned characters that have graced the pages of Alterna Comics' graphic novels!

This 5 card set will also feature 250 sketch cards that will be comprised entirely of original, hand-drawn, one-of-a-kind sketch cards created by 50 different artists, including Alterna's very own talented creators!

A lot of the artists involved are getting the chance to see their work published for the first time.  It's a dream come true for many of them - a dream that we hope they get a chance to fulfill.  There's also veteran artists on here that are lending their skills towards bringing the characters at Alterna to life in their own unique visions.

What We Need & What You Get

We need to raise at least $200 to afford packaging and print production costs on the cards.  BUT if we can raise the extra $200, then it would help us to afford the shipping costs and promotional costs of marketing the set.  Now, this is more of a pre-order sale than do-or-die fundraiser, but the benefits to contributing definitely end up working in favor for you!  We've got our books for sale at less than cover price as well as pre-orders for the card set at less than the $10 a pack price.

There are 50 extremely talented artists contributing original art to this set - original art that can be yours for fractions of what they would be worth otherwise!  With a 50% chance of getting original art in each pack, it truly is a great deal.  Each 3 card pack of cards comes with 2 base cards and either a signed base card by an Alterna creator OR an original sketch card from one of 50 artists.

Other Ways You Can Help

Getting the word out by posting this on any social media site - sharing it on facebook or twitter or just anything really - would be awesome.  So even if you can't contribute a dollar amount, just spreading the word would be great.
