What if our government kept a sealed record of your identity? Birth records are public information to most of the population, but to a few like myself, they are sealed because we are adopted. Currently, I have no legal right to my original birth record, unlike every other person in New York State.

"All my life," a working title, is a documentary that focuses on our efforts to discover our identity and tells the story of adoption. 

Project description of "All My Life" a working title:

This is a feature length documentary with the end goal of airing on PBS, DVD format, and on internet sites like Hulu and Netflix in HD. We have already successfully raised $2,000 for our documentary in our previous campaigns. The response from the adoptee community has been amazing, but funding has been slow in these hard economic times. This film is about the sealed or closed records of adoptees. A sealed birth certificate can never be opened, thereby denying the adoptee the fundamental right to their identify. 

We are working with local and national organizations to further the movement of open records and help gather information.

Current status of the project:

We have shot some local interviews to try and drum up support for our project. We have a long way to go to reach our funding goal. Once funding is received we can carry out this massive effort to inform and educate the public on how adoptees are one of the last disenfranchised segments of our population. The total funding goal will help us cover the expenses of travel across America, rental equipment and our time in preproduction and post. Any remaining funds will be used for distribution or given back to the cause of open records.
