About Me

Alexandra Laceys life has been characterized by a spirit of independence and adventure. Her explorations and travels have led her to be engaged in history, culture, and political activism. These interests have fueled and informed her creative passionfilm. hthrh

She has worked for fifteen years as an independent director, editor, and producer. She received her BA in Film Production at UC Santa Cruz and her MFA in Film Production from San Francisco State University. She has written, directed and edited three short narrative films that explore the lives and choices of creative women. In these films she brings a unique perspective to storytelling, with a focus on womens stories as seen through the lens of psychology and place.

Her first film Hotel Room screened at the Film Arts Foundation Festival and received several festival and academic awards, including best student film at the City College Film on Video Festival. Her other films have screened and been recognized at festivals including the Arizona International Film Festival, the Bare Bones Int. Film Festival, and the Noise Pop Festival.
