Let me tell ye a story! The story of AirBuccaneers!

A long time ago, on the ungodly year of two thousand and four to be exact, a bunch of crazy Finns embarked on a journey to create a multiplayer game like none have seen before. And so the AirBuccaneers was born - an Unreal Tournament 2004 Mod which battled its way into the third place on Make Something Unreal Contest of 2004. As the crazy Finns concentrated their efforts on overtaking new challenges on the field of serious games, the AirBuccaneers fell under the veil of history and was forgotten…


BUT NOW - ON THE YEAR 2012 - THE BUCCANEERS RISE FROM THE ASHES OF OBLIVION AND TAKE THE SKIES BACK!


With new engine (Unity), new visuals, new features, new faces and new enemies the Buccaneering has embarked on a new era, the era of AirBuccaneers HD!


AirBuccaneers HD takes the players into a huge world engulfed in never-ending war between the Buccaneers and the Vikings. Players command heavily armed hot air balloons in fearsome battles. Flawless co-operation and nerves of steel are the keys to success. Course of war is determined by individual battles until one side is victorious. As the winning side is clear, the highest acclaimed warrior from their ranks takes over the throne, and bestows his name upon the next era in the world of AirBuccaneers.


The Impact

We've been funding this project from our own pockets thus far and we got to the point where our wallets are running thin. Now we need the help of you fans to make this game happen! The starving Buccaneers and Vikings truly appreciate your help.


What We Need & What You Get

Normally games of this magnitude cost millions to make. And they have marketing budgets that are as big or even bigger as the development budget. We are a small game studio courageously sailing in the stormy seas of game business and we haven't yet got a publisher backing us up. But we have one ace up our sleeves - We can make a game of this level happen with a fraction of the normal cost. Our initial development budget was only 1.2 Million Euros but we've already cut it down to 500 000 Euros. And we still were able to expand the game from the original plans.

This is the first funding phase which ends on 28th of February as we release the Alpha version of the AirBuccaneers HD. This also drops some of the stuff off from the game packs and bumps their prices up. And most importantly, the legendary Last Song of Väinämöinen won't be available anymore. So get into buccaneering fast and receive legendary amounts of booty before it is too late.

We need the money to keep our programmers, artists and 3D modelers fed and paid. If we can't reach the target, we have to start cutting stuff from the game. Starting from in game items, skills and other game experience expanding features that'll be added later on. Then we have to start dropping characters and maps and so on. In the end, there's a risk that the project never gets into full completion.

Disclaimer:

* The Soundtrack isn't finished yet. Digital versions will come available as soon as it's done.

** We will start the delivery of the gifts (e.g. Soundtrack album, Poster, T-Shirt, Hoodie etc.) once the game reaches Beta phase.

*** The portraits will be made from photographs. The client is responsible for delivering the needed photos to us in good enough detail.

**** We will solely decide when and how the weekend trip to our HQ can be organized. Of course we'll be in contact with you in order to organize a weekend that best suits us all.

***** You will receive the AirBuccaneers HD Source code as it is at the moment this campaign ends. This is subject to separate agreement between You and us.
