Adam Hammer used to spare for change as a homeless squatter. Now, almost 10 years sober and musically recharged with an acoustic style all his own, Hammer is sparing for change with a worthwhile purpose — to create his next studio CD.
With a fresh batch of songs that have fans singing along at shows throughout Minnesota, Hammer is eager to head back into the studio to create the follow-up to 2008’s “Tattooed Folk EP.” Many have been asking, “So when’s the new CD coming out?” The answer is always, “As soon as I can afford to do it justice.” Well, now’s your chance to help make the new disc happen!
This new album, tentatively titled “Broken Like You,” will feature a dozen or so new songs that require more studio treatment than Hammer can give at his home-based Hammered House Productions where the “Tattooed Folk EP” was recorded and produced.
You can listen to rough demos of some of the music slated for the new disc (“Underwater Love Song,” “Starshine,” “Scared Alive,” the title track and more) at http://www.reverbnation.com/adamhammer.
Along with the full-length, Hammer also will be releasing the “Let it Burn EP” with his band the Impact featuring some of his darker, drop-tuned cuts (“Let it Burn,” “Whistle Your Way to the Grave” and a new rendition of “Ballad of Lucy”) that just don’t fit in with the music pegged for “Broken Like You.”
You can also help fund this project by purchasing the “Tattooed Folk EP” on iTunes or at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/adamhammer.
