Our Story

This is the third movie we have made through the selling of credits and memorabilia.  With each movie, we find additional success; however, we are still very independent and always in need of the help of others to tell these stories!

Aaron's House is an independent, low budget movie, being produced by SoCal Entertainment and Media Company (SCEMC), a company with a track record for success.  Others promise, we produce.  Our last project (Zombie Farm) went coast-to-coast in independent theaters and festivals and received major media coverage (more about this below).

We are making this low-budget, high quality, high definition feature film for video release with a theatrical sensibility.  With our reputation and connections, the outlook is very good that you will see Aaron's House in festivals and theaters in late 2011.

About Aaron's House:

Haunting.  Frightening.  Scary.  From start to finish, Aaron's House is relentless and terrifying.  Aaron's House aims to tap into our fears and create a suspenseful and frightening horror movie.

The story combines intersecting stories, culminating at and collapsing upon Aaron's House.  First, and foremost, there is the mystery around the surrounding city, Verde Hills, and the house itself.  Mysterious and sometimes lethal, Aaron's House is a place visited by few, but known about by many.  Local legends say the house and the surrounding area are cursed, originally erected by a member of the Donner Party, and built on a foundation in direct violation of the natural world.

We are shooting with a variety of cameras for different situations in the movie.  We have professional video and DSLR cameras for the production as well as high end audio equipment.  None of these funds are going toward equipment.

Genre / Movie Style: This is a feature horror film. It could be classified as horror, suspense, thriller, paranormal.

The Impact

Movie making on an independent budget is truly a labor of love for the genre and the arts.  We owe a debt of gratitude to the many people who volunteer time, donate services, or work for minimal pay.  This movie is already underway and in progress.  However, if we meet our goal as posted here, it will aid in us paying our actors as well as getting some actors involved with recognizable names and faces.  Join us, help make a movie, get your name in the credits and see it on the big screen!

What We Need & What You Get

This project is happening.  We have the equipment and most of the locations and we are already shooting.  However, there are some additional roles and locations to procure.  The money we get here will most likely be entirely going to the paying of actors and the use of locations.  While the project is still happening, the purchasing of a credit can help ensure that the project meets its full potential and vision.  And ultimately, the more we raise, the more we can do with this movie.  Name actors, even on a low-budget and are attainable; however, they cost money.  There are many actors in big movies who are available from $750 to $2,500 a day.

Why Buy A Credit?  The obvious, and ultimate, answer is to help make a movie.  The reality is, we need every bit we can to get the movie made and to get it seen (which we do).  You can get your name in the credits, participate in some cases, get some really cool memorabilia, and get this movie out to the public -- that's why we make movies.

After you buy a credit, you also get full access to our "Team Member" portion of the website where you can watch footage, look at pictures and get updates.  We will also invite you to all screening events!

Other Ways You Can Help

You can help us spread the legend of Aaron's House by visiting our website and finding out more about the project and various associations.  We are relying on the myths and legends about this place to help market the movie.  The more people know, the more they are interested, the more they question the mysteries of Aaron's House.

About Our Last Project

On Amazon Zombie Farm has repeatedly cracked the top 5,000 in DVD sales, not bad considering there are more than 400,000 DVDs being sold.  Additionally, the OnDemand downloads have been rated as high as #12 and #15 in the Campy Movies and Monster Movie categories, respectively.  Also, Zombie Farm currently has more than 96,000 trailer views on YouTube.

Zombie Farm was written about (and continues to be) in the esteemed Atlantic Monthly, Fangoria, Gorezone and other magazines.  The movie featured faces that you recognize and names you know from known movies, including John Philbin (Return of the Living Dead, Tombstone), Joe Estevez (Werewolf), Kimberly Fisher (CSI), Bobby Field (15 Minutes), Chris Leone (The Girl Next Door), D.T. Carney (Dead Things), Javier Morga (One Life to Live), Jed Rowen (Black Dahlia), Danielle De Luca (Naked Fear), Christine Cowden (The Witch's Sabbath) and many more!  We will be bringing back many of the actors as well as other "names" for Aaron's House.
