Artists Against Hate (AAH8) is a collective of writers, directors, editors, producers and industry professionals who have come together to create simple, effective video messaging to promote love and equality in every place where hate and bigotry still have a foothold.
The AAH8 Mission:
To create powerful, deeply moving commercials that can be run in any territory, anywhere in the world, by any organization that wants to send the simple message that everyone deserves the right to marry.
Marriage equality organizations around the globe have proven their ability to organize, raise funds and increase awareness, but what we really need to win this battle is simple, emotional messages to reach those who are still undecided on the issue.
Few organizations have the creative and production resources to produce consistent, effective messaging that can capture the hearts and minds of an audience outside our existing supporters.
What equality organizations do have is the resources to air these ads on TV. Local television advertising is less expensive and more accessible than at any other time in history, and it reaches a broad cross-section of the population.
The AAH8 Solution:
To film 30-second, broadcast quality commercials that we make available for licensing to any pro-equality organization in the world, that we customize with their own logo, campaign information or message, and that they contractually agree to run, unaltered, on television in their licensed territory.
With this issue appearing on so many ballots in 2012, isnt it time to start controlling the message? To have media that is pro-active, not reactive? To put love at the forefront of our fight?

So...what's the money for?
Weve already finished the first commercial, but we have several more in the pipeline, which is why were
looking for donations now to fund the next two productions -- "Life Support" and "Moving Day." Every dollar helps, and even though we launched this
campaign with the low target of $1,000, were hoping to raise significantly more. The first funds in will go solely to production, with each of the next two ads expected to cost $5,000-7,000. We also need funds to cover outreach, distribution, some
necessary legal and accounting work, and any funds left over will go towards
airing our spots in markets where the battle is being waged, and more
television advertising is needed.
