Our Story

My name is Jim Maher, and I am a father of two (nearly three!) boys.  I am a stay-at-home dad, because my wife's terrible back problems prevent her from being able to lift the boys.  I would love more than anything to have a career that allows me to stay at home for my children while providing a decent life for me and my family.  The one way I know how to do it is write my stories. 

I write for kids because they are the most important audience.  We lose them, we lose everything.  Most publishing houses won't accept anything unless it's been professionally edited, so that's what I'm driving for. 

My book, Mike Logan vs. The Crosstown Horde, is a crossover horror/hockey adventure that will appeal to Canadians and hockey fans everywhere.  I would like to get it professionally edited before sending it out so it will have the best chance of being published. 

The long and the short is that I want to be the last of the great family men.  It's my dream come true.

The Impact

My campaign is really more of a personal one.  If I don't raise the 1000 dollars, I'll have to get a full-time job (I know, I know, what a sob story, but my kids are my life) and my wife will get steadily worse in the back department.
