Changing the world, one video at a time
Ten years ago, Valerie Alexander gave up the roller-coaster uncertainty of corporate law and low wages of investment banking for the steady paycheck and job security of screenwriting.
She joined the WGA in 2003 after being hired by Phoenix Pictures to adapt the novel Social Crimes for Joel Schumacher to direct, and has since worked with and/or for Catherine Zeta-Jones, Ice Cube, Jon Amiel, Ashley Judd, and too many fly-by-night companies to name.
Valerie made her directing debut with the short film Making the Cut, and is the creator, producer and director of The Wedding Matters, a successful PSA campaign in support of marriage equality. Valerie continues to produce and direct for a variety of issue-oriented, awareness-raising efforts from numerous progressive organizations.
