The Impact
First and foremost, film should be beautiful. It should tell a story. And that story should mean something. Breaking the silence of sexual assault isn't just about standing up for your rights. It's about opening yourself up so that your community is able to come in and support you. Because community is the deepest, most miraculous thing in the world and it is a gift to help create one.
What We Need & What You Get
Filmmaking ain't cheap, even when people are working for free. Here's our basic budget:
- Production costs (crew, camera rentals, sets, catering): $5,300
- Post-production costs (special FX - her silence literally becomes magic, sound mixing, editing): $3,200
- Film festival submissions: $1,000-$2,000. This seems as crazy to you as it is to us, but it's part of the game. What's the point in making a film if no one sees it?
- IndieGoGo + credit card fees: 7% of all funds raised
Total costs: roughly $10,500
What we need to start: $6,400 (the $7,100 goal incorporates fees and donations to our collaborators)
Collaborators:
