Our Story

In 2011 a group of like-minded individuals assembled to compete in the Producers Guild of America Weekend Shorts Contest, 51-hours to make a 3-5 minute video (click here to view submitted video). Now we're taking what we learned from that experience into the 168 Hour Film Festival a faith-based filmmaking competition. We receive on Feb. 5 the bible verse our story must be based on. The next ten days will be used to write the script, rehearse the actors, and do all the pre-production. Then on Feb 16 the countdown begins. We'll have 168 hours (aka 7 days) to produce and edit a ten minute piece. Entrants can qualify for a number of awards (e.g. Best Picture, Best Direction, etc.). The winner of Best Picture receives a cash prize and a sit down meeting with Ralph Winter, producer of X-Men and Fantastic Four.  SEE SOME PICS FROM PREPRODUCTION HERE!

The Impact

Film festivals equal exposure for everyone, both cast and crew. Exposure leads to possible additional film related work. More importantly, we believe the story (whatever it is) and the filmmaking process are a great opportunity to develop meaningful relationships with those who work on it. From the production assistant grabbing the coffee to the actors, even the owner of a location. Your contributions will go to the expenses of the production, which will allow us to focus more on producing the best project. And that will showcase everyone's talents. We will strive to intentionally make our story and our set a vehicle to touch the lives of others.

What We Need & What You Get

The majority funds will go to hiring some key positions and renting gear (e.g. lights, rigging, and camera gear) and purchasing/renting costumes, props, and sets/locations. Additional funds will help with feeding the cast/crew and expenses related to attending the festival on March 29-31.

In return we have things like DVDs & posters signed by the cast, visits to the set, even a nice dinner with the producers. Check out the rewards along the right side for more details.

Other Ways You Can Help

If you can't contribute financially or you just want additional ways to support our project, there are options. One way is prayer. As much as we try to plan for everything, something always happens! Prayer can help us maintain a level head through such events. Another way, if you live in the Bay Area, is helping out on set, or bringing food for the crew, or donating  gear/location. Contact us to help in any of these ways, or something.

Thank you!
